Social Prescribing Summer Tea Party

Posted on:

On the 7th July, social prescribers for Grange Farm Medical Centre hosted a summer tea party for patients registered at the practice.

The tea party was setup to help patients understand what social prescribers do, how their work can help them, and connect them to other organisations in the community. Making these connections allows patients to take ownership of their healthcare and find the right care for their specific circumstances.

The City South PCN team hosted the event from Wollaton Park Community Centre to run alongside the Wollaton Arts Festival. This allowed attendees to take part in a range of arts and crafts activities, a great way for people to have fun and improve their mental wellbeing.

There were a range of local organisations in attendance, promoting their services to people who would benefit from them. These included The Lenton Centre, Groundworks, Macmillan Cancer Care Co Ordinator, Radford Care Group, Nottingham City Council Community Connectors, and Nottingham Muslim Women’s Network.

It was an amazing event for all involved. Thank you to everyone that came down and took part.
